HP OfficeJet 6500 Wireless All In One

After a project of scanning in all my family photos ( dating back to 1960 something ), my scanner finally gave out on me this weekend.  After getting some feedback from friends and family, I decided to go for the HP OfficeJet 6500.

This printer/scanner/copier/fax machine is supposed to be super quiet.  It prints double sided ( way to go green ).  The scans are supposed to be of superior quality and the wireless feature is supposed to be a breeze to install.  I'll let you know how that goes when I actually get the printer.

If you guys want to check it out, here's the link below.

Snooty Customer Service at BCBG

Maybe someone can explain to me why sales people at some stores think that being snooty is part of their job description.  How can someone take one look at me and decide if I'm worth their time?  Austin is one those places where the guy dressed in a torn shirt and torn shorts is a millionaire.  So calculating my net worth based on what I'm wearing is probably a bad idea.

The sales people at BCBG in the domain ( at least the ones that I deal with ) continue on with their conversations even though I'm standing there waiting for one of them to assist me.  They make it seem like an incredible chore when they do have to help me and I don't think I've seen some of them smile.

Now I've never worked in retail and I'm sure it's an extremely hard job to have to be on and unfailingly polite to everybody that walks in, but please don't take it out on me.  All I want to do is walk in and have a reasonably nice shopping experience.  So in the future...smile...trust me..it won't hurt.

Barnes And Noble Nook Review

Okay....I jumped on the e-reader bandwagon. However, I decided to go with the Barnes & Noble Nook instead of Amazon's Kindle. The verdict...wrong decision. Barnes & Noble still has some bugs that it needs to work out. Most of them are software upgrades, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Barnes & Noble pushes out the upgrade soon.

The most annoying thing that I face is that I lose my bookmarks and my reading point whenever I turn off the Nook. B&N's response? Never turn the Nook off; always put it to sleep. Granted, this works but nonetheless bookmarks and furthest reading points should always be remembered in any situation.

The Nook takes longer to start up than the Kindle. Not so annoying if you're a patient person. I, by nature, am not.

Some Nook owners have reported that their Nooks have frozen up on them. This has not happened to me, but with all the bad reviews that I have read online from Nook owners, I will be returning my Nook....and getting a Kindle.

I should have gone with the Kindle right off the bat. It has been on the market longer and has had time to work out most of their bugs. For those on the fence about buying a Nook versus a Kindle, go for the Kindle.
